From June 16 to 18, 2025, the city of Rimini, Italy, became the centre stage for climate adaptation discussions during the 7th European Climate Change Adaptation Conference (ECCA2025) — Europe’s leading climate adaptation event. Hosted for the first time in Italy, ECCA2025 brought together scientists, policy-makers, practitioners, and innovators from across Europe and beyond, aiming to create smarter, faster, and more systemic climate adaptation solutions. Organised by CMCC (Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change), a partner of the MULTICLIMACT project, ECCA2025 plays a key role in advancing collaborative climate adaptation efforts across Europe.
Among the contributors to this dynamic dialogue was the MULTICLIMACT project, represented by Nensi Lalaj under the umbrella of the MAIA project, a key player in climate adaptation knowledge brokering.

Mrs. Lalaj of Brigaid Connect represented MULTICLIMACT during the event, disseminating brochures and key project information at the MAIA stand. This initiative allowed visitors to explore MULTICLIMACT’s goals, methodologies, and vision for multi-level climate action, tailored to support regional and national policy transitions.
MULTICLIMACT’s presence sparked significant interest among key climate actors and adaptation experts, many of whom subscribed to the project’s newsletter and committed to following its progress on social media. These engagements reflect growing recognition of MULTICLIMACT’s relevance in shaping integrated, science-based policy pathways for climate adaptation across Europe.
Importantly, the MAIA Connectivity Hub expressed keen interest in featuring the MULTICLIMACT project within its network. This opens the door to deeper collaboration, with discussions already underway to align strategies and explore joint dissemination and knowledge-sharing activities in the coming months.
ECCA2025 served as a pivotal platform for MULTICLIMACT to expand its network, amplify its impact, and reinforce its role in Europe’s evolving climate adaptation landscape. As the project moves forward, continued engagement with external stakeholders will be instrumental in ensuring that climate action is informed, inclusive, and systemically embedded at all levels.
